Over the last few weeks, Canada has seen an INSANE increase in the number of COVID-19 cases. The new variants out there are a lot more transmissible than the original deadly virus. The number of hospitalizations has increased, especially among the youth causing a lot of provinces to shift their policies either by shutting down indoor shopping, shortening the curfew, or even all the way on the west coast, officially shutting down indoor dining - something that hasn’t been done since the early days of the pandemic.
Every province is trying to figure out the best and most efficient way to curb this 3rd wave, while the number of vaccines available are still limited in the country. And even if vaccines were more accessible, there are still so many who are wary of the long term risks that we may be unaware of.
And after such a long time of dealing with the pandemic, it is clear that many people have their own opinions on how to improve things, or what they consider a comfortable amount of risk. COVID-19 Fatigue has also clearly become a new term, where people are just tired of thinking and dealing with it after all this time - which has also led to an increased number of mental hardships around the world. However, we need to remember that we are ALL IN THIS TOGETHER (cue high school musical soundtrack) - and need to support each other until we can really kick this virus to the curb.
